Have you ever watched the show “Are you smarter than a 5th grader?“, where you would think “Yes…yes I am!”
That’s how I felt going into playing Bible Trivia, a game by Astro Game Studio. I’m not a bible scholar or pretend to play one on TV, but I’ve read the bible enough over the decades I thought I could nail it.
Well, your boy was taken for a ride—in a good way—because I learned a little more than I expected. It humbled me a few times to get some basic questions wrong, only because I didn’t notice a certain word or phrase written to trick the player, and I tip my hat to the developers for their foresight in doing this.
Bible Trivia is an easy game to get into. You pick your avatar, and name, and start in Genesis with about 10 questions asking whether a certain phrase is true or false. Be warned, they will trip you up often!
The game does have some shortcomings though. Sometimes I would get the right answer, and the game would show the correct verse it referenced but it was the same as the question. Most questions are repeated, so on your second go-round if you remember which ones you got wrong you will likely pass easily. I would have liked more variety in the questions presented. It’s fun for a while, but it gets boring rather quickly.
I did a lackluster presentation below, as my mic volume wasn’t very high so I apologize if you can’t hear me. At the very least you can see the game for yourself and decide if it’s one you would like to pick up. It’s out now on Steam and the link is below.
Thank you Astro Game Studio for the digital review copy!
